This safari starts in Kasane on the 20th August 2020 when we either meet you at the airport or at the Kazungula Border post. We go for a 3 hour boat cruise on the Chobe River before heading deep into the park to our exclusive site that is only minutes from the river and floodplain. We have 3 nights here and, depending on game movements, will explore the area from Serondera to Simwanza Dams extensively.
On the 23rd August after a last early Chobe River drive we head south, for 6 hours, to Savuti, where our camp is set up for 3 nights at my staff’s favourite exclusive site. In addition to our normal game drives we will visit a rock island that protects 13 majestic Baobab Tree’s and view a small panel of Bushmen Paintings. Harveys Pans and the other natural waterholes in the area will be dry so a lot of action should be happening at the pumped waterholes, at Rhino Vlei, Marabou and Pump Pans which we will visit and spend time watching.
On the 26th August after a last early morning Savuti game drive we head south again to the Khwai Community Concession area. Our camp is set up at Magotho under large Acacia Tree’s for 3 nights. In this area you can, at your guide’s discretion, drive off road, which is great for photo’s at Leopard sighting’s, which this area is renowned for. One evening we will have sundowners near the river before spotlighting back to camp. You will enjoy a tranquil 2 1/2 hour mekoro trip early one morning whilst here.
On the 29th August we have a last early morning drive at Khwai before entering Moremi Game Reserve and travelling 3 hours to our exclusive site a few km’s from Xakanaxa. We will go to Xakanaxa one afternoon for you to enjoy a 3 hour boat cruise on the lagoons and waterways of this part of the Okavango Delta. Depending on game movements we will explore from Paradise pools to Dead Tree island, 4th Bridge and even 3rd Bridge, whilst here.
On the 1st September we return to Maun in time for your flight to Johannesburg
