Day 1-3

Khwai, Okavango Delta

Ulinda Camp Khwai

We meet you at 9 am and drive 3 to 4 hours to Khwai Community Concession area.

Khwai Community Area is a community-run private reserve adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve. The Khwai river attracts high concentrations of thirsty wildlife. Riverine forest lines the wide water lily and papyrus covered floodplains around the Khwai River. A myriad of colourful birdlife is found in this watery habitat that is a breeding area for many species. Away from the river and plains is thick mopane woodland dotted with pans that attract many animal species. All fees paid here go into the local community providing schools, scholarships, water pumps and more. The game viewing is superb.

We are here for 3 nights. Each morning we will be up early and out on a game drive before sunrise. We will return to camp between 10.30 and noon and have a leisurely lunch and some siesta time. We then head out again around 4 pm, returning at 7 pm for snacks drinks and dinner.

Day 4-6

Savuti

Lion King with Ulinda Safari Botswana

On the 15th October after packing our bags and having tea and coffee we will go for a short early morning game drive before returning to camp for a light breakfast, hooking up the water trailer and driving 5 hours to Savuti we will have a picnic lunch with us to eat along the way.
Savuti
The Savuti Channel in northern Botswana is a famous waterway in a thrilling state of flux.
In October things are very harsh at Savuti with animals having to go to pumped water to drink. There is a site where ancient San rock art can be seen after a small but steep climb. It is humbling to see and puzzle over and causes one to marvel at the people who previously inhabited the area. A beautiful island of 13 Baobab trees is not so well known but makes a wonderful excursion and is a wonderful site to photograph.

We spend 3 nights here the routine is the same as at Khwai.

Day 7-9

Chobe

Buffalo Chobe floodplain with Ulinda Safari Trails

We again move camp to the Chobe River, about 5 hours drive away. The first glimpse of the Chobe River – deep and dazzling is always breathtaking. One of Africa’s most beautiful rivers, the Chobe supports a diversity and concentration of wildlife unparalleled anywhere else in the country. Established in 1968, the park encompasses floodplains, swamps and woodland. The Chobe River is famous for its large herds of elephants and Cape Buffalo, which converge upon the river to drink.
The river is host to a stunning array of birdlife, and a 3-hour boat cruise is taken to take advantage of this. If lucky you will see Elephants swimming.

The sites we stay in here are completely undeveloped, everything must be taken into them- even water and nothing left behind, so they remain pristine. They offer an untouched wilderness experience a few hundred metres from the Chobe River, and you can watch stunning sunsets with a backdrop of elephants and buffalo a few minutes from our tented camp.
