This safari allows you to explore Moremi at a leisurely pace, staying in exclusive remote operator sites away from other people at night. We start at Bodumatau (The Place of the Lion) for 3 nights, before moving to the beautiful Second Bridge for another 2 nights, followed by Xini Lagoon for a further 3 nights. You will enjoy a 3 hour boat cruise from 3rd Bridge. We then overnight in Maun before going to Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans NP for the last 6 nights. This gives you the opportunity to experience the desert area’s as well as the lushness of Moremi. Enjoy sunsets at the waterhole at Nxai Pan – great for Elephant and Giraffe silhouette shots.

The Itinerary is as follows :

12th October – we suggest you overnight in Maun at Maun Lodge the night of the 11th October 2019, so that we can collect you at 9am on the 12th October. We drive 3 hours to the entrance to Moremi Game Reserve at South Gate, where we check in and fill our water. We then drive another 2 hours to a beautiful Operator’s site far from other people at a place called Bodumatau (the place of the Lion). Here our camp is set up for 3 nights, next to a hippo inhabited lagoon. We probably will not have to venture far from our camp to get good game sightings.

On the 15th October after a short early morning game drive we move only 2 hours to Second Bridge where we set up camp for 2 nights. On the morning of the 16th October we go early to 3rd Bridge and enjoy a 3 hour boat cruise on the Lagoons and waterways of this part of the Okavango Delta.

On the 17th October we again move to the beautiful Xini Lagoon and stay in a lovely shaded site near the water. We have 3 nights here and depending on game movements might go explore the Black Pools area.

On the 20th October after an early morning game drive and a hearty breakfast we drive to Maun and you overnight at Maun Lodge.

On the 21st October we collect you at 10am and we drive 2 hours on the tarmac to the Nxai Pan turnoff, where we will deflate our tyres before driving the sandy 32km to Nxai Pan itself. We will fill our water before continuing to our exclusive campsite about 8km away. We have 3 nights here and will spend quite a lot of time watching the comings and goings at the waterhole, after having an early morning predator patrol.

On the 24th October we have an early morning game drive whilst the camp is packed then move back to the tar road, which we travel on for 12km before turning off at Phuduhudu. We will deflate tyres further before traversing the very sandy 32km road to Khumaga. We fill our water here before going to our exclusive camp site. The Boteti River as an oasis in the desert and at this time of the year is visitted by hundreds of Zebra providing some dramatic photo opportunities. A great area for Birds of Prey and Vultures. We have our last 3 nights here.

On the 27th October after an early morning game drive and a hearty breakfast, we drive back to Maun arriving in time for flights to Johannesburg.
